And we're stuck! But in our sack - Kashitu Sewing Workshop 2024

We have team members from different disciplines and each of us has some hobbies and since we are entrepreneurial people, we will make it all work on the project! My colleague Štěpánka is very skilled in sewing and that's why she has planned a sewing workshop and a workshop for this year.

There are some incredibly beautiful fabrics available at the markets in the area and the local women are very skilled at sewing, but unfortunately they don't normally have modern technology available to them and therefore even one skirt takes them x times longer than it takes a regular seamstress to make such a piece. To still hold the line of the project, we came up with the idea of using empty cement bags brought from the construction of the high school here in Kashitu for the sewing workshop. These pieces will be totally unique and we have a surprise for you too! Don't worry, we'll keep you posted soon

We have transported the sewing machines and the sewing workshop with classes is running successfully and we have an overhang of interested women from the local Zambian community who want to participate in the workshop. I guess we will have to ship more equipment for next year then! And you can help us with that! But one thing at a time, you'll hear all about it in due course.
